1924 - Hafta Tatili Hakkında Kanun, TBMM'nde kabul edildi (Cuma günü hafta tatili olarak kabul edildi).


Cumhuriyet'in ilanı ile birlikte daha önceden yapılmayan hafta tatili de 2 Ocak 1924 günü yürürlüğe giren bir kanunla Cuma günleri yapılmaya başlandı. 1935'de çıkarılan bir kanunla da cuma yerine, pazar gününün resmi hafta tatili günü olması sağlandı.


İstanbul İstiklal Mahkemesi'nde yargılanan gazeteciler beraat etti.
