[/FONT]Şark Demiryolları, Türk idaresi tarafından işletilmeye başlandı.

1936 - Miladi ilk Yılbaşı tatili yapıldı.
31 Aralık günü Yılbaşı akşamıyken, 1 Ocak günü tatil günleri arasına alınıyor ve yeni yılın ilk günü olarak kutlanmaya başlanıyor.

(1925 - Uluslararası saat ve takvim'in kullanımı TBMM'de kabul edildi). 1 Ocak 1926'dan itibaren cumartesi günleri öğleden sonra başlamak üzere pazar günü tatil ilan edildi (Yılbaşı günü hâlâ tatil değildi, kutlanıyor ama tatil günleri arasına alınmıyordu). 1935'te çıkarılan yasayla o senenin yılbaşından itibaren 1 Ocak günü tatil ilan edildi. İzmir’de "Kültür Park"ın temeli atıldı.

1936 - The Turkish Republic officially celebrates its first New Year Holiday according to the Gregorian-Julian calendar (the solar calendar that is in use throughout most of the world). Turkey adopted the solar calendar on December 26, 1925.1935 - Atatürk'ün, gece İsmet İnönü'nün köşküne gidişi, geç saatlerde Çankaya'ya dönüşü.İstanbul Rıhtım Şirketi devletçe alındı.1934 - Ölçüler Kanunu yürürlüğe girdi.Türk İnkılabı dersleri (Yüksek Tahsilde) başladı.1931 - Menemen'de şeriat isteyenlerin yargılanması için Korgeneral Mustafa Muğlalı başkanlığında bir Divan-ı Harp kuruldu.
